In the beginning
I’ve sewn for as long as I can remember. My mother was a seamstress with an industrial sewing machine and one of my earliest memories is sitting under her machine while she sewed and gathering up the scraps of fabric to make things with. Of course, health and safety wouldn’t let you do that now!
As I got a bit older I started making clothes for my toys and one of the first things I ever made was a pair of dungarees for my favorite teddy. He looked so smart!
I guess that’s how a lot of people start off sewing, but I carried on from there. I got my first sewing machine when I was nine and I went on to make my own clothes. I was so keen to do as much sewing as I could that they even let me do extra sewing at school!
And the rest, as they say, is history!
Brave New World
In the past I have transformed my own home using my design ideas. My friends and family loved it and I was thrilled to be featured in “Your Home” magazine. Since then I have worked by personal recommendation on helping my clients design the rooms and homes to their personal taste.
My many years experience in making beautiful soft furnishings, curtains and blinds means I am able to create those special things individual to each design. No more having to compromise because you cannot find a match.
I hope to feature some of these beautiful homes here in my Journal in the future.
