“Making beautiful things isn’t just my business, it’s my passion”
I love being at home with my family, Betty my Cockerpoo and Sam my Burmese cat.I want other people to love their homes too by making sure they are surrounded by high quality and beautiful soft furnishings.
I can help you turn your house into your dream home, no matter what size your home is or how much you want to spend.
Whether you have a very clear idea of the look you want, or whether you have no idea at all, I can help you all the way.
Whether you want a completely new look for the whole house, or a few cushions to match your current theme, nothing is too big or too small.
Unique & Personal Design
This is my story
I have always loved sewing and making. Most of my family are creatives and my lovely Nan, Mair (pronounced Mya) inspired me to knit, crochet and sew. My Mum worked in a sewing factory and I remember sneaking in and sitting under her industrial sewing machine picking up the remnants to take home to try and sew them to make my teddy new clothes. I was nine years old my I got my first sewing machine and I was over the moon!
I’ve worked many jobs but have always returned to sewing, I love making something out of nothing. My previous business (called Love that Bag!) was the start of my journey into the business world. I still love to make clothes, bags and other personal items, but but I’m now focusing on my real passion: making beautiful homes for other people by creating fantastic soft furnishings.
Margo & Mya
I’m always being asked where did the name Margo and Mya come from?? I mentioned earlier that my Nan was called Mair (pronounced Mya) and my middle name is Margaret. A few of my friends would call me Margo and from there Margo and Mya was born in 2018.
We’re quite different to say the least. I wanted Margo and Mya to be an experience rather than just a shop. We want all our customers to enjoy their visit whether they commission a full home makeover or just pop in for a natter. I wanted Margo and Mya to be a place for learning and we have now successfully launched Margo Makes courses and workshops, an in-store making school. Information about our workshops can be found on the website and you can also book on directly there too! If you can’t wait to join in with a class why not buy a Margo Makes Kits and get making straight away!
